The Almanack's career-application mnemonic. Take your unique self + apply leverage to it → you become a one-person business with the multiplication power of an organization.
1. Code entrepreneur — you build software. You own equity. You scale with code leverage. The compounding is in code + users. 2. Media entrepreneur — you publish / broadcast. You own the audience. You scale with media leverage. The compounding is in content + subscriber curve. 3. Crafter / creator with equity — you make something (designer, author, founder) where you own a piece of the upside, scale via code or media, and have accountability under your name.
"Entrepreneur" gets over-glamorized. The frame is sharper: productize yourself regardless of whether you start a company, take a job, freelance, or build a tool. You might be an employee who productizes by owning equity + scaling your judgment with code/media — that's a perfectly valid productized-self.
When evaluating any work direction, ask: Am I productizing it? Am I scaling it with labor, capital, code, or media? If the answer is "I'm scaling it by trading time for money" — you're a wage worker, not productized.
